TU Dortmund University became new member of the Eu-SPRI Forum

On the General Assembly of the Eu-SPRI Forum TU Dortmund University was accepted as a new member of the high-level network. The “European Forum for Studies of Policies for Research and Innovation” (Eu-SPRI Forum) aims to strengthen the vibrant but dispersed interdisciplinary community of researchers focusing on interdisciplinary dimensions related to policy and governance in the field of knowledge creation and innovation. The Social Research Centre at the TU Dortmund University will contribute to the ongoing discussion about the next generation of innovation policy by focusing on the increasing role of social innovation in the national and international debate.

With a presentation at the Eu-SPRI Conference in Paris on “The Importance of Social Innovation for a Transformative Innovation Policy – insights from the global research project SI-DRIVE” Jürgen Howaldt emphasized the crucial role of social innovation as part of a New Innovation Paradigm and raised some questions with regard to the conceptualization of social change in the current debate.
