For four days, there will be top-class lectures on the topics of ‘municipalities and cultural change’, ‘the role of intermediaries on urban social innovation’ and ‘development of urban social innovation ecosystems’. Presentations by experts from all over Europe will be complemented by discussions and workshops for developing practical solutions and strategies. TU Dortmund University, represented by Christoph Kaletka and Dmitri Domanski, will host the third day of the Summer School, dedicated to the topic of developing social innovation ecosystems in cities.

The 3-year project “Social Innovation Community” is funded within the EU framework programme “Horizon 2020” and started in February 2016. The overarching aim of the project is to create a ‘network of networks’ of social innovation actors. Community building is realized through research, experimentation, learning and policy activities and aims to deepen and strengthen existing networks, forge new connections between networks, and create new links to actors and networks which hitherto have not been included in the field of social innovation.
