On June 1, 2015 Jürgen Howaldt presented first results of the SI Drive Project at a Trans-Atlantic Platform workshop being held in Ottawa, Canada at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences 2015

Formed in October 2013, the Trans-Atlantic Platform for the Social Sciences and Humanities (T-AP) is a collaboration between key humanities and social science funders in South America, North America and Europe. The Platform aims to enhance the ability of humanities and social science funders, research organizations and researchers to engage in transnational collaboration.

sidrive_logo T-AP plans to involve researchers at Congress 2015 to build networks and establish a future research agenda in thematic areas which have been identified by T-AP based on consultations with all T-AP members.

This year T-AP will be holding three workshops. The aim of the workshops is to better understand how funding through Horizon 2020 – The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation should be focused to foster research in these areas, so as to maximize the contribution of this research towards addressing international challenges. Discussions at the workshops will inform T-AP activities and the Platform’s recommendations to the European Commission on international research funding.

A two days’ workshop on “Supporting Research to Build Resilient and Innovative Societies” will be organized at the social research center of the TU Dortmund University on December 1 and 2, 2015.
