TU Dortmund University – sfs at “Exploring Ecosystems of Social Innovation – creating capacity for systemic change in Europe”

International experts followed an invitation by Social Innovation Europe (SIE), in co-operation with the BMW Foundation, for a two-day event in Berlin.

sie_logo The event that took place on 22 and 23 June at the BMW Foundation (http://www.bmw-stiftung.de/en) and the Impact Hub Berlin (http://www.impacthubberlin.net) and offered an opportunity for discussion on some of the most urgent questions concerning successful expansion of social innovations ecosystems: What are the roles of different stakeholders, such as government, business companies or civil society? How can we think differently about new funding models? How can a culture of social innovation be promoted and which would be a way to develop a better system to support social innovation?

Social Innovation Europe (https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/socialinnovationeurope/en) is Europe´s largest social innovation community. It was established in 2011 as the first pilot action on social innovation under the EU’s Innovation Union. The SIE platform has become a community of over 3000 people as well as a database of organisations and events across Europe.
