Dmitri Domanski (researcher at sfs Dortmund) spoke about the current international research project „SI DRIVE – Social Innovation: Driving Force of Social Change“.
The different institutions presented their methods and research tools and gave workshops about regional systems of social innovation, community work, social entrepreneurship and social innovation financing models.
Dmitri Domanski gave an insight into the conceptual transformation of the innovation term in the context of a knowledge based society and the increasing importance of social innovations in relation to technological innovations.
In this framework he introduced the current international research project “SI DRIVE – Social Innovation: Driving Force of Social Change” which is coordinated by Sozialforschungsstelle Dortmund. The project integrates theories and research methodologies to advance understanding of social innovation leading to a comprehensive new paradigm of innovation. In its practical dimension it undertakes a global mapping of social innovations and develops recommendations how to foster social innovation.
