„Learn to teach by social web”: New vocational training course for teachers presented

The project „Learn to teach by social web” has launched its brand new vocational training offer on a conference at Gloucestershire College, Cheltenham. Dr. Bastian Pelka and bestseller author Prof. Frank Coffield introduced the topic of social media based learning.

learntoteach_logo The project built on an initial survey of teachers in six European countries, indicating a need for social media based classroom teaching. This research showed actual need for teaching material and lessons examples for teachers who felt uneasy with new ICT developments. Aiming at providing an easy to understand vocational training online curriculum, the project delivered theoretical background, pedagogical arguments and hands-on teaching materials as well as lesson inspirations. This is building on the understanding of social media rather being a “social innovation” than a new technology and so the project strongly links social media and pedagogics.
